The Isle of Man
So why bother to think about the Isle of Man? After all, it is just a tiny speck on the map, 23 miles long, 13 miles wide and stuck…
This Celtic Knot is our largest and it is definitely eye catching due to the intricacies of the design. If you examine closely you can discern the heads of four fish, namely the salmon. To the Celts the salmon was always associated with prophecy and wisdom. The salmon features prominently in Celtic legends – the Irish tale of Fionn mac Cumhaill and the Welsh tale of the hero Culhwch (who was carried away on the back of a magical salmon) being just two examples.
Ancient monks used Celtic Knots to illuminate manuscripts such as the famous Book of Kells. The Celts believed that life was never ending and that continuous re-birth would allow complete spiritual fulfillment and this belief became the inspiration for the many knots.
This Celtic Knot is handcrafted in .925 sterling silver and is available in several chain lengths.
