To the ancient Celts, the Trinity knot had several meanings. It represented the three elements of fire, earth and water whilst also depicting the three domains of land, sea and sky. In addition it was also known to symbolize life, death and rebirth. Life’s never ending circle was the only way the Celts believed they could achieve complete spiritual fulfilment.
